Boron Carbide (HF-007)

Detailed Product Description

Boron Carbide, a black crystal powder, is one of the hardest man-made material in the world. With the Mohs hardness of 9. 36 and the Microscopic hardness of 5400-6400kg / mm2, it is the hardest material only second to Diamond. Its density is 2. 52g / cm3 and the melting point is at 2450oC, the Boron Carbide possesses the properties of enduring high and low temperature, inertness with either acids or alkalis, high grinding efficiency and without magnetism. It is an ideal substitute of diamond. Boron Carbide also has the unique characteristics of low density, neutron absorbtion ability, semi-conductivity etc. Therefor it is widely applied to the field of armed forces and nuclear industry. It can be also used in the fields of boriding refractory, ion transfusion, film layer as well as grinding, polishing, drilling hard metal alloys, jewels etc.
Meanwhile, Boron Carbide is the main material which is used for the production of wear-resistance spare parts, precise spraying nozzle, sealed washer, smelting of boron steel and boron alloy etc. In the field of high-tech, Boron Carbide has already shown its excellent properties and other developing potentials.
