Description: 1-Tetralone is a colorless or yellowish liquid. Its color will darken and be changed to dark or dark red when exposed to light; it smells like camphor, but its smell changes mint-like while it is heated.

Use :α-Tetralone is mainly used in synthesis of  naphthol by dehydrogenation. It can also be used as an intermediate for synthesizing Norgestrel, Rodenticide and Benazepril in pharmaceutical industry. Moreover, it can be used as  a solvent and plastic softener. Its chloride substitute has pesticidal function.
