Characteristic of mellow tea series: This is the high grade tea product of Tieguanyi. After curing and cooling down, it is sealed up and placed in storage in a special cellar of stone and wood structure. It is not hot in the intense heat of summer and not cold in the bitter cold of winter. After all this storage and changes, it turns to be "mellow, smooth, clear and refreshing" since it is a mixture of a large amount of essence. It bears a strong aroma and can be mild and sweet. According to the change of the essence contained in the tea, several grades are thus divided: five-year grade, ten-year grade, fifteen-year grade, eighteen-year grade and twenty-eight-year grade, of which the products from ten-year grade to twenty-eight-year grade are the best.
The tea leaves of mature tea series are not so crinkled, the lustre is pitch-black and the aroma is mellow. The tea soup is in orange yellow or orange red. It tastes pure, mild and refreshing, making one feels sweet in the throat and helping to remove grease from human body. As the properties of this tea is warm, it relieves inflammation or internal heat and is diuretic.
Ways to make tea: put 5-7g of tea into the teapot, pour boiling water in, then let out the soup in fifteen seconds. No steeping long. The pouring can be over 10 times in succession.
