Aluminum Nitride
1. The characteristic of Aluminum Nitride:
High thermal conductivity - About 10 times that of alumina, up to 190 W.
Thermal expansion close to that of Si - Excellent reliability in the mounting of large Si chips or for
use with demanding heat cycles.
High resistivity to corrosion - Inert to almost all molten metals.
2. Applications of Aluminum Nitride:
Circuit substrates of semiconductor modules and IC packages
Heat sink materials for power transistors, thyristors, LDs and LEDs
Crucibles for molten metals, vacuum deposition and preparing single crystals
Window materials for infrared and radar applications
