DAO ZHUANG KETTLE

This production is manufactured according to Yaozhou pottery model in Beisong Dynasty by Chenlu pottery and porcelain plant. The initial one was contributed to Shaanxi museum by a teacher named Gaolixun in philosophy department of Northwest University and was listed as precious cultural relic. The body of the kettle is round and plump and circle-decorated with overlooking-lotus. Engraved on the upper part of the kettle is a female lion, who is crouching its forelegs, reclining slantingly, raising head, opening mouth to show its teeth, shrugging ears and dragging tail and a little milk-sucking lion. The handle is phoenix-shaped, short mouthed and long tailed. The phoenix's round eyes are looking away directly. Without a lid, there is a plum blossom-shaped hole at the bottom of the kettle. It's said that the kettle is a wine pot and the wine is poured in from the plum blossom-shaped hole and flow into the belly of it through the strainer. When use, the wine will be poured out through the mouth of lion.
