Working of the production unit.
The shavings are taken from the base of the shaving tower by an adjustable screw and go through the preheater supplied with secondary steam to in order to remove air from the shavings are impregnated by injection with white liquor.
Then the shavings are impregnated by injection with white liquor.
The shavings go into the digester through a Voest Alpine Bauer valve, which allow total recuperation of the heat (minimal waste of steam).
The digester carry out the effective circulation of the shavings by chains and gears, which ensure a perfectly controlled stay of the shavings
The digester is entirely automatic so that, after tuning, the liquor, steam, temperature and even the time the shavings stay in the digester are constant.
The digester is supplied with direct steam
About a third of the white liquor is sent to preheater.
The liquor temperature that is wished for can be set before the liquor enters into the digester by the preheater or by direct heating of the digester.
About 35% of the organic and inorganic matter dissolved in the digester is removed by continuous extraction.
So the washing system is relieved and the concentration of residual washing powder increased before dispatch to the evaporation system.
The pulp taken away with the liquor is recovered on a Hydrasive sieve. Then the liquor returns to the process.
The pulp leaving the digester is sent into a pressurised double disc refiner.
It is de-fibered under pressure and then blown into a blow-tank
