TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
-Used for sealing roof-mounted air conditioners, vents, antennas, awnings and window trim, chimneys, skylights, window sills and sliding doors.
-Useful in sealing storage bins to interior refrigerators and plumbing to exterior seams, for bonding various substrates such as painted metals, aluminum, wood, glass, steel and many plastics and composite materials.
-Used for sealing auxiliary spotlights, running and directional lights and for construction of vehicle body and cab including panels, body seams, underbody, roofing, truck beds, trim, wheel wells and exterior electrical harnessing.
-Seal and repair guttering, down pipes and corrugated sheets, carport and lean to roofing joints to main wall, water tanks or troughs.

DISADVANTAGE
Butyl tapes are not an adhesive and should never be used to install a windshield or any glass that is not mechanically fastened to the vehicle. Butyl is used with foam for various applications. Butyl alone when used for sealing mechanism, when flattened will bounce back into shape forming a leak proof seal every time. Foam core provides a unique compression recovery capability to the butyl tape. Butyl tapes don't work well under cold weather conditions.
