A low voltage, low amper age current is passed through an electrolyte on the surface of metal parts to form marks by electrolytic reaction. First, create a text or graphics using a computer, then print the text or graphics on a transparent film to make a positive using an office printer, the final stencil is made from the positive by photographic process. put stencil on the surface of metal part to be marked, connect the metal parts to ground wire of electro-chemical etching machine, after put etching head of electro-chemical etching machine wet with electrolyte on the stencil for about 0.5~2second, the text or graphics on the stencil can be clearly etched on the surface of the metal part. One stencil can last for 4000marking, the quality of the etching result depands on:
1. stability of output current of electro-chemical etching machine.
2. contour sharpness of the stencil
3. the formula of electrolyte.
