1.    Localization for traditional pipe material

 (1)The traditioanl pipe materials (e.g. concrete pipe) has the heavy self-weight, high requirement on the base and pipe’s head is easy to immerse in the soil on a soft base the can not be easily to adjust the deflection.

(2)The traditioanl pipe has a high requirement for lifting equipment due to its heavy self-weight and for the large tonnage lifting equipments, it is restricted in narrow and small construction space.

(3)When the traditional pipe meets the barrier underground, the pipe will be held because of the factors from soil’s cohesive force, which will cause the jacking force increasing several times over, the jacking length in single time will be limited under the condition of pipe bearing a certain pressure.

(4)The traditional pipe has a short service life because it is easy to be corrupted by sewage water inside of pipe and acid substance in soil.

2.    Advantage of GRP Jacking Pipe

(1)  Light weigh: It has low requirement for the pipe lifting machine, it is convenient to construct and easy to adjust deflection.

(2)  Smooth inner surface, high flow capacity. The smaller diameter pipe can be selected to use under the condition of flow capacity confirmed which can reduce the material’s cost.

(3)  Smooth outer surface. The soil’s cohesive force does not influence the GRP mortar pipe, the phenomenon of pipe holding and pipe enwrapping does not occur.

(4)  The minimum service life-span of GRP jacking pipe is over 50 years. Good performance of corrosion resistance, low pipe maintenance cost and high long-term benefits.

(5)  GRP jacking pipe has a high compression strength which can not be easily destroyed. (The concrete pipe’s compression strength is about 65MPa, but the GRP jacking pipe’s can be approach 130MPa)
