Specifications
White solid or powder form of gender oxide. Also known as titanium dioxide. Chemical formula TiO2, 79.9 molecular weight, melting point of 1830 ~ 1850 ℃, boiling point of 2500 ~ 3000 ℃. Titania exists in nature in three variants: rutile tetragonal crystal; anatase tetragonal crystal; orthorhombic brookite crystal. Titanium dioxide solubility in water is small, but can be dissolved in acid, it can be dissolved in alkali, the chemical reaction equation is as follows:
Titanium dioxide and acid reaction:
TiO2 + H2SO4 = TiOSO4 + H2O
Titanium dioxide and alkali reaction:
TiO2 +2 NaOH = Na2TiO3 + H2O
Rutile titanium dioxide can be extracted by acid decomposition, or by the decomposition of titanium tetrachloride are.
