Green rare earth silicon carbide(carborundum) is produced basically in the same way of common green silicon carbide(GC) except the different requirements of raw materials,in which the rare elements,encluding rare earth elements were quantitatively added in.
Green rare earth silicon carbide(RGC) is a new high-performanced green silicon carbide material. RGC has color and appearance similar to that of common green carborundum,but significantly higher microhardness and toughness,and good at cutting edge,self sharpening,corrosion resistance,high temperature stability,better in sintering, sintered strength. Green rare earth silicon carbide abrasives is specially suitable to grind hard alloy and hard and brittle metal and non metal materials,e.g. high wear-resistant super-hard high speed steel, Tungsten, molybdenum, jewels,quartz,ceramic,sapphire,crystal silicon,et al.
Rare earth green silicon carbide is used as the cutting edge material for multi-wire sawing to cut silicon chips(silicon chips processing),could replace common green silicon carbide,and get significantly high sawing efficiency,reduce the cost of sawing and the silicon wafers.
