The field switchboard (KO-TXD-20D 20 lines field switchboard) is a device used to connect a group of telephones to one another or to an outside connection. It's anti-vibration, impact-resistant, is specially designed for harsh environment condition such as battlefield communication. It's an analog space division switching system for voice communication across telephone lines. It provides three types of terminal interface:
A. 2-wire LB line interface (can connect local-battery telephone with or without DTMF capability)
B. 2-wire LBT interface (can connect LB trunk with or without DTMF capability)
C. DCC trunk interface (can connect DCC DP or DTMF trunk). The switchboard operator can initiate terminal interface using program.
It can be operated as a 20-terminal single switchboard or may be connected with additional switchboard to form a 40-line system. 10 simultaneous conversations for one Switchboard and 14 for expanded operation. The features of KO-TXD-20D 20 lines Field Switchboard include call monitoring, call forwarding, call interception, priority calling and conference calling, etc. Any multi-party connection can be broken down manually, through operator intervention and action, or automatically, through a subscriber going to an on-hook condition.
