Matting Agent for Powder Coatings RC108S

Description

RC108S is a kind of matting agent designed for hybrid system. It has the properties of non-yellowing, good matting effect, good flowing and gloss consistency. The powder formulated with RC108S is compatible with one formulated with B68.

Appearance: White or yellowish powder

Melting range: 100-220°C

Volatiles: Max. 1.5%

Application

-RC108S is suitable for 50/50, 60/40, 70/30 hybrid systems. The combination of different kind of polyester resins with different acid value may lead to the very good matting effect.

-Very excellent color stability even at high baking temperature, this makes the RC108S particularly suitable for light shades.

-Wax free matting agent, good recoat ability expected

-Combination of polyester with acid value of 70mgKOH/g and polyester with acid value of 30mgKOH/g or less can obtain the good matting results. The details should be tested in the lab.

-The gloss level varies from the polyester resin selected and the formulation applied

-The starting baking temperature from 170°C

-Suitable wax can be added if needed.

-Powder produced with RC108S can be compatible with that formulated with B68.
