Water-cooled Eddy Current Brake
Eddy current brake Type DS70 is an auxiliary brake to offshore and overland drilling machines that reach 7000m in depth. It's supplied not only as a supportive component to drawworks but also as independent equipment to the existing drilling machine.
Electromagnetic eddy current brake is composed of brake body, power supply, switchgear for driller, cables, and bracket.
The rotor shaft of the brake rests on two double-row centripetal spherical rollers, which have much greater bearing capacity the actually required. Eddy current brake is fitted on a winch and
Is fine adjusted so that it will produce equal electromagnetic force on all directions during running. As a result, the bearings only bear the load caused by the dead weight of the shaft and the rotor.
The rotor and the stator are made of superb magnetic materials that have undergone proper heat treatment. The coils are sealed on the left and right stators with stainless steel hood. The rotor shaft and the cylindrical shaft are connected with geared clutch, with the rotor partially immersed in cooling water on its surface, which is circulated by pump.
On the sides of the shell, there are four breathers for removing the internal condensing from the steel hood and two grease nozzles for the bearings.
