Introduction:

Meiqing multi-purpose medical films adopt PET which has been treated by stretching-setting as a raw material. What features PET have are high mechanical strength, stable physical dimension, good light transmission, and environment-friendly. The film is produced through the technique of multi-layer coating. On each side of the film, it is coated with nanoscale water-soluble polymer material which is good either for waterproof color inkjet printing or laser printing.

The film is used for various medical imaging output systems. It can present real medical images that are processed by computer. Compared to the processing of traditional silver films, it leaves out fixing and washing. This eliminates pollutions to environment. The printed medical images will have high resolution, colorful layers, and outstanding reflection/transmission densities compared to other films. Those advantages are crucial to diagnose. It is waterborne and formulated without hazardous substances such as silver or chromogenic agent. It is the excellent substitute to traditional silver x ray films.

1. Do I need a darkroom when I buy a digital X ray system?

No. A darkroom is not required. However, images can be printed using laser or inkjet printers that are similar to computer printers which will produce good quality images on specialised films without chemical processing.

2. Do I have to throw away my old X ray equipment when I move to digital imaging?

Not necessarily. The old X ray machine can be used as CR (computed radiography) by providing CR cassette. The machine can still be used as before using conventional cassette.

3. Do I have to be a computer expert to use digital imaging?

No. The software to manage digital images is user-friendly and quite easy to use.

4. Do I need to have special training to interpret digital X rays?

You will need some specific training to obtain the full advantages of digital radiology but not for the interpretation of X ray images.
