As pure formaldehyde is in gas state under high temperature since it boils at -19`c, this substance bears no commercial value as it is. Due to such characteristics, formaldehyde is sold and transported in solution state or in polymer state. Generally, a high molecule is to be extracted in a few days if formaldehyde solution higher than 30% is left in high temperature.
The most widely-traded formaldehyde solution between 37 to 50wt% in the world is 37wt% solution. Sufficient amount of methyl alcohol is to be added to formaldehyde solution at this concentration in order to prevent the extraction of polymer. Being quite significant industrial chemical, formaldehyde is used for various uses to produce acetal resin in addition to pentaerythritol and hexarnine. Formaldehyde is very important because it not only has a high chemical reactivity but also is colorlessly stable.
