Hardware cloth, also called wire cloth, is wire mesh that consists of either woven or welded wires in a square or rectangular grid. Wire cloth is available in galvanized steel, stainless steel mesh and bare steel, and it is typically used for outdoor applications. The mesh openings range from 1/8 inch x 1/8 inch to 2 inch x 2 inch for the square openings and 1/2 inch x 1 inch to 2 inch x 4 inch for the rectangular openings. Hardware wire cloth mesh is available in rolls ranging from 24 inches to 72 inches wide and 100 feet long and can be cut to fit your specifications.
